Significant Discussions on Defense Cooperation

Washington, April 11: The Indian Air Force's chief, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, engaged in discussions with US Air Force Chief of Staff General Ken Wilsbach to enhance mutual interests and strengthen the defense collaboration between the two nations.
On April 8, Singh was honored with a formal welcome at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, where he also met with Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink and General Wilsbach at the Pentagon.
General Wilsbach expressed, "It was a privilege to host Air Chief Marshal AP Singh for this vital counterpart visit."
In addition to his activities in Washington, Singh traveled to Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado for briefings related to the North American Aerospace Defense Command's mission, which focuses on aerospace warning, control, and maritime security for North America, according to officials.
Singh's itinerary also included a visit to Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, where he received briefings at the US Air Force Warfare Center and participated in a familiarization flight aboard an F-15EX Eagle II, as stated by the US Air Force.
Singh remarked, "Such opportunities are essential for enhancing our joint interoperability and fortifying the strategic alliance between our air forces."
During their meetings, senior leaders from the Department of the Air Force highlighted the significance of the defense partnership with India, emphasizing its crucial role in maintaining a free, open, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
General Wilsbach commended India's leadership and involvement in multilateral exercises with allied nations, stressing that prioritizing and expanding this cooperation is vital for bolstering regional deterrence.
He noted, "Throughout his visit to the Pentagon, we engaged in fruitful discussions centered on modernization initiatives, future training prospects, and our shared dedication to a free and prosperous Indo-Pacific."
Wilsbach also acknowledged India's acquisition of MQ-9B Sky Guardian aircraft, reaffirming the US Air Force's commitment to ensuring that the Indian Armed Forces can effectively utilize the platform upon its delivery.
He further emphasized the USAF's readiness to support the IAF's modernization efforts, highlighting the mutual advantages of pursuing these objectives through defense industrial collaboration.
The office call concluded with staff discussions covering topics such as the National Guard Bureau's State Partnership Program, the Air National Guard's Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center, and comprehensive MQ-9 operations.
