South African Batters Climb the Rankings

Connor Esterhuizen, a right-handed batsman from South Africa, has made a remarkable ascent in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, jumping 65 spots to enter the top 25. His impressive performance during the recent tri-series featuring South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe saw him accumulate 126 runs over five innings. Esterhuizen's highlight was his explosive 88 runs in the final group match against Namibia, propelling him to 25th place in the T20I batting rankings.

Significant Gains for South African Players

Another South African player, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, also made notable progress, climbing 61 positions to achieve a career-best ranking of equal 43rd after scoring 226 runs in four innings during the tri-series.

Namibian Players Show Improvement

Despite not reaching the tri-series final, Namibian players made significant strides in the rankings. Captain Gerhard Erasmus advanced 16 places to 55th, while opener Louren Steenkamp improved by 32 spots to reach equal 73rd.

Movers in T20I Bowling Rankings

In the T20I bowling rankings, Zimbabwe's Brad Evans emerged as the biggest mover, climbing four spots to equal 22nd after taking 10 wickets at an average of 15.80 during the tri-series. Zimbabwe's captain, Sikandar Raza, also moved up two places to 27th, while South African bowlers Kwena Maphaka and Bjorn Fortuin made significant gains, with Maphaka rising 16 places to equal 38th and Fortuin jumping 37 spots to equal 78th.

Erasmus Shines in All-Rounder Rankings

Gerhard Erasmus further excelled in the T20I all-rounder rankings, moving up four places to eighth and achieving a new career-high rating. His rise is attributed to a strong tri-series performance, where he scored 149 runs and took five wickets.
