Shooting Incident at Home of Newly Elected Cricket Canada President
Shooting Incident in Surrey
In the early hours of Wednesday, a shooting occurred at the residence of Arvinder Khosa, the newly elected president of Cricket Canada, located in Surrey, British Columbia. Khosa confirmed that his home in the Newton area was targeted but refrained from sharing additional information when contacted. Observers noted at least five bullet holes in the door, windows, and exterior walls of the property.
Authorities reported that the house was occupied during the shooting, which took place around 4:40 a.m. PT. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The Surrey Police indicated that the investigation is in its preliminary stages, with initial findings suggesting a possible connection to extortion.
Khosa assumed the presidency of Cricket Canada on April 9, following a court order that mandated a vote during a special general meeting. Recently, Cricket Canada has been under scrutiny due to a fifth estate investigation that uncovered serious allegations of corruption, organized crime influence, and match-fixing attempts involving prominent figures within the organization. Those implicated have denied these claims.
Additionally, the investigation highlighted Khosa's ties to local players associated with the Bishnoi gang, who allegedly threatened a national men's player in 2025. Khosa has previously rejected these allegations.
