Savannah Guthrie's Heartfelt Plea for Missing Mother Amid Ransom Note Claims
Savannah Guthrie's Emotional Appeal
Television host Savannah Guthrie has made a poignant public request for information regarding her missing mother, following alarming reports that a ransom note from her alleged abductors suggested her mother had passed away. During an emotional segment on NBC's Today show, Guthrie, visibly distressed, spoke to viewers nearly five months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, vanished from her Tucson, Arizona residence. "I can't ignore this situation, even though I’m not part of the coverage. I feel compelled to ask anyone who knows something to come forward. Please, we need your help," she urged.
Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, was reported missing after an alleged kidnapping incident on February 1. In the days following her disappearance, two notes were reportedly sent to both the family and media outlets. The first note claimed that Nancy was "safe but scared" and demanded a ransom of $4 million in Bitcoin for her release.

A second note, referenced by a news outlet, allegedly stated that Nancy had died and was buried in a natural setting. It has been reported that Nancy required daily medication for a serious heart condition. Reflecting on the toll her mother's disappearance has taken on her family, Savannah expressed, "This may be a new story for you, but this is our daily reality. My sister, my brother, and our extended families are living in constant agony. We cannot find peace. Despite my efforts to smile and seek joy, I must emphasize that we need your assistance, and I won’t let this chance slip away." She later posted a video of her appeal on Instagram, pleading, "please. bring her home," accompanied by a yellow heart emoji.
Investigators familiar with the case informed a news channel that both notes are believed to have been sent from the same individual or group, originating from the same digital IP address. Shortly after the second note was received, Guthrie shared a video message aimed at the kidnappers, stating, "We received your message and we understand. We implore you to return our mother to us. This is incredibly important to us, and we are willing to pay." As of now, Nancy Guthrie remains missing, and authorities have not identified any suspects, with no significant leads emerging nearly five months after her disappearance.
