San Antonio Man Arrested for Threatening Turning Point USA CEO and Event
Threats Against Turning Point USA CEO
Jacob Wenske, a 26-year-old resident of San Antonio, has been apprehended after allegedly threatening to kill Erika Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point USA, and to bomb an upcoming event organized by the group. His arrest occurred early Thursday, and he now faces two felony charges related to making terroristic threats that incite public fear, as detailed in documents obtained by local news investigations.
According to the San Antonio police, Wenske reportedly made several alarming comments online in reaction to social media posts promoting the Women’s Leadership Summit hosted by Turning Point USA, scheduled for June 5-7 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter.
In one of his responses to a post about the event, Wenske allegedly stated, “I know exactly where to bomb.” He also commented, “I can’t wait to be the valet for her escort,” in reference to Erika Kirk.
Authorities cited an email associated with Wenske's account that purportedly included violent threats aimed at Kirk and other anticipated speakers at the summit. The email allegedly contained a message stating, “Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!! America will live on without those scum on this earth. Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event.”
Court documents indicate that Wenske's bond has been set at a total of $120,000. Turning Point USA released a statement expressing gratitude to law enforcement for their swift action regarding the threats. They emphasized their commitment to taking all threats seriously and collaborating closely with law enforcement to address and mitigate any potential dangers.
The organization also thanked the San Antonio Police Department and the FBI for their prompt response and reassured that security protocols would be enforced during the summit. Erika Kirk assumed the role of CEO of Turning Point USA following the tragic shooting of her husband, Charlie Kirk, at a Turning Point event in Utah last September. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
