Rescue teams are actively searching Geneva Lake near Big Foot Beach in Wisconsin following a boat capsizing incident that occurred on Friday afternoon amid a rapidly intensifying storm, as reported by local news outlets. Authorities are currently looking for three individuals, who are believed to be children, and are still unaccounted for.
The storm swept through the area unexpectedly around midday, catching many off guard. Residents noted that the weather changed dramatically, with powerful winds striking the lake while families were still enjoying the warm afternoon. One eyewitness recounted to CBS 58 that the sky turned "completely black" as the storm approached.
At the same time, the National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning for parts of southeastern Wisconsin. This warning was announced just before 12:30 p.m., affecting areas in Walworth, Racine, and Kenosha counties. Reports indicated a tornado was spotted near Borners Lake, moving eastward at a speed of 50 mph. Sirens were activated in Elgin shortly before 1 p.m. as the severe weather passed through.
