Shooting Incident at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel

On the evening of April 6, Offset was shot in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino located in Hollywood, Florida, shortly after 7 p.m. He was promptly transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he received treatment for injuries that were fortunately not life-threatening. A representative for Offset confirmed to a media outlet that he is currently stable and under medical supervision.

The Seminole Police Department reported that the situation was quickly contained, posing no risk to the public. According to spokesperson Gary Bitner, the incident stemmed from a physical altercation. A second individual was apprehended at the scene but did not face any charges.

Lil Tjay Arrested Following Incident

On the same night, Bronx rapper Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested and reportedly charged with disorderly conduct related to the incident. His bail was set at $500, and he also faced a traffic violation with a bond of $2,500. Tjay managed to post bail and was released on the afternoon of April 7.

His attorney, Dawn Florio, quickly sought to clarify Tjay's involvement, stating that he had not been shot and was not charged with any shooting, labeling the rumors linking him to the gunfire as "false" and urging the public to verify information before sharing.

Tjay Responds to Allegations

Following his release, Tjay confronted reporters and expressed his frustration towards Offset. He claimed to have witnessed Offset accusing him of being the shooter, which Tjay vehemently denied. He expressed his anger, stating, "The last thing I saw was Offset looking at me like this, 'Yo, that n***a shot me.' That’s crazy. I don't do no damn fighting. Did I shoot Offset? That’s absurd," adding that he would never allow Offset to disrespect him.

Offset's Reaction

Offset did not remain silent in response to Tjay's comments. After Tjay's remarks gained traction online, Offset retaliated in the comments section of a post by a popular media outlet, succinctly stating, "U ain't buss nun."

History of Tension Between the Two

This incident is not the first clash between Offset and Tjay. Earlier in 2025, Tjay publicly criticized Offset during a livestream, labeling him as "broke," alleging a gambling addiction, and claiming Offset owed him money. This prior exchange had already created animosity between the two before the recent events unfolded.

Background on Offset

Offset gained fame as a member of the hip-hop trio Migos, alongside his cousin Takeoff and fellow rapper Quavo. The group emerged as a significant force in hip-hop throughout the 2010s. In 2019, Offset embarked on a solo career, releasing three studio albums and a mixtape. The group faced a tragic loss in 2022 when Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston at the age of 28, which effectively halted Migos' activities.
