FIR Registered After Alleged Abduction of Hindu Sisters


Karachi: In a significant development, police in Sindh province, Pakistan, have filed a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the alleged abduction, forced conversion, and marriage of two Hindu sisters, over a month after the incident occurred.


The sisters were reportedly taken from their home in Tando Allahyar on August 29.


Following their abduction, they were allegedly converted to Islam against their will and married.


The authorities have since recovered the sisters and presented them to a sessions judge in Tando Allahyar, who has placed them in a safe home pending further legal proceedings.


Shiva Kaachi, the leader of the Hindu community welfare organization Pakistan Darawar Ittehad, expressed relief that the police finally registered the FIR after persistent efforts.


He mentioned that community leaders and family members of the girls visited the police station to submit a formal application containing all necessary details and documentation regarding the alleged crimes.


Kaachi emphasized the importance of verifying the girls' ages through official identity documents and birth records, insisting on a thorough and transparent investigation.


He highlighted that the legal rights and protections for minors must be upheld.


In a related incident, he noted that police have been requested to ensure the safety of another young Hindu girl and her family, who had faced threats following her abduction in Umerkot district eight months prior.
