Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides officially welcomed PM Modi at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. Following the award ceremony, both leaders introduced their delegations and engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. This visit marks the first time an Indian Prime Minister has traveled to Cyprus.

PM Modi arrived in Cyprus on Sunday afternoon as part of a three-nation tour that also includes Canada and Croatia. Upon landing at Larnaca International Airport, he was greeted by President Christodoulides and received a warm reception from the Indian community in Limassol.

During his visit, PM Modi and President Christodoulides met with prominent CEOs from both nations to discuss enhancing commercial ties, particularly in sectors such as innovation, energy, and technology. The Cyprus Presidency echoed the sentiment of a new strategic partnership, stating, 'Together, Cyprus and India send a strong message of cooperation and prosperity.' Before concluding his visit, PM Modi emphasized the importance of Cyprus as a close ally and a key partner in the Mediterranean region and the EU, noting the potential for expanding ties in trade, investment, security, and technology.
