New Delhi. A phone call lasting approximately 40 minutes took place between Prime Minister Modi and U.S. President Trump. According to reports, this was their first conversation following the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran.
Official sources indicate that the leaders discussed the situation in West Asia and emphasized the need for restoring peace. During the call, PM Modi expressed to Trump, “The people of India admire you.”
Sergio Gor, the U.S. Ambassador to India, stated that the relationship between India and the U.S. is robust. He noted that cooperation between the two nations is continuously growing, with collaborative efforts on several critical issues.
Previously, Modi and Trump had a phone conversation on March 24, where they addressed the conditions in the Middle East. PM Modi had conveyed India's desire for de-escalation and a swift return to peace.
He also highlighted the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure, as it significantly impacts the global economy.
