Islamabad: In a series of overnight operations, Pakistani security forces eliminated 67 members of the Afghan Taliban, thwarting their assaults at 16 different sites along the southwestern border, according to official reports.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar shared details about the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq, which commenced on February 26 in response to Taliban incursions.
He noted that 40 Taliban fighters were neutralized during the operations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
While one location faced a direct assault, 12 others were subjected to fire raids, all of which were successfully defended without any casualties on the Pakistani side, as per Tarar's update on social media.
The minister confirmed that follow-up operations are still in progress after the overnight actions in KP.
In a separate incident, the Afghan Taliban launched physical attacks from across the border, targeting 16 sites in Northern Balochistan, specifically in the Qilla Saifullah, Noshki, and Chaman districts, while engaging Pakistani troops at 25 locations with fire raids.
All assaults were repelled, resulting in 27 Taliban fatalities and numerous injuries, he reported.
Additionally, one soldier from the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North lost his life, and five others sustained injuries.
On Monday, the minister disclosed that Pakistani forces had previously killed 435 Taliban combatants, with another 630 injured. They also destroyed 188 tanks and armored vehicles, captured 31 Taliban posts, and successfully targeted 51 locations in Afghanistan through airstrikes.
In related news, state-run PTV announced that the Pakistani military executed a successful air operation in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, destroying the Khogani base.
According to PTV, both Fitna al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban are facing significant setbacks following their unprovoked attacks.
Security sources indicated that Operation Ghadab-ul-Haq remains active and will persist until all objectives are met.
