Continued Efforts in Nancy Guthrie's Case

The search for Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of Today, is still ongoing over two months after she vanished from her Tucson home. The 84-year-old was last seen on January 31 and is suspected to have been abducted the following day. Authorities have yet to name any suspects in the case.

In a recent interview with a news outlet on April 5, Michael Hupy, president of Crime Stoppers Milwaukee, discussed the potential impact of a $100,000 reward he has put forth to encourage new leads. Hupy emphasized that the anonymity provided by Crime Stoppers could motivate witnesses to come forward with information. He stated, "I believe that people will come forward if they're anonymous and if they get a reward," highlighting that individuals can share details without the fear of being publicly identified.

Hupy expressed his concern for Guthrie's health, noting the distressing circumstances surrounding her disappearance. "I was very sad that an 84-year-old woman in poor health was taken from her home, without her medication, her heart pacemaker stopped [synching], there's blood at the crime scene, and I thought something had to be done quickly," he remarked. He also criticized the local authorities, particularly the Pima County Sheriff's Department, for their handling of the investigation, stating, "I don't think they secured the scene long enough to process it."

Multiple rewards have been announced in relation to the case, including a $100,000 offer from the FBI and a staggering $1 million from Guthrie for information leading to her mother's safe return. Despite these initiatives, there have been no confirmed developments, and Nancy Guthrie's location remains a mystery.
