The police in Nurpur district have escalated their efforts to combat illegal mining activities. On the evening of January 18, 2026, teams from the Dumtal Police Station and Dhagoonpir Police Post executed operations aimed at dismantling the mining mafia. As a result of these efforts, authorities confiscated five tractors and one tipper involved in unlawful mining.


All six vehicles have been registered under the Mining Act, and necessary challans have been issued. The cases are now being forwarded to the Hon’ble Court for further legal action against those responsible.


Officials have reiterated their commitment to maintaining a stringent stance against illegal mining in the district, ensuring that violators are held accountable under the law.
