Claims of Knowledge on Nancy Guthrie's Location

A man has come forward, asserting he knows where Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, is located. This revelation comes as authorities investigate a new ransom-related communication in the ongoing kidnapping case. Greg Kerr, who publicly addressed Savannah in a message, expressed his belief that Nancy is still alive and encouraged her to reach out to him. However, law enforcement has not verified his claims.

Kerr stated, "My name is Greg Kerr. In one of your videos, you mentioned that if anyone has information, they should find a way to contact you." He added, "God has revealed to me who took your mother and where she is being held." He urged Savannah to look him up online before making contact, saying, "Before you reach out to me, please google 'GREG KERR Louisiana' to understand who you are dealing with." He concluded with, "I have strong reasons to believe your mother is alive."

It remains uncertain if investigators have looked into Kerr's assertions. This message surfaced alongside another letter linked to the kidnapping that was reportedly sent to various media outlets. According to reports, this latest communication originated from the same email address used for previous ransom notes and has been forwarded to the FBI. The anonymous sender claimed to possess a phone in a secure location that contains a video featuring what they described as "the main guy" with Nancy on what they suggested was "probably her last" day. The letter also purportedly named two individuals believed to be involved in her abduction. Authorities have yet to confirm the details mentioned in this letter.

Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, vanished from her Tucson residence in the early hours of February 1, 2026. Following her disappearance, multiple ransom notes were sent to her family and media outlets. Reports indicate that one note accurately described the clothing Nancy wore the night she went missing and noted damage to a floodlight at her home. In June, it was reported that another blackmail letter sent to Savannah's family came from the same IP address as previous communications. This letter claimed that Nancy had died accidentally and demanded $4 million for her body’s return. Investigators have deemed earlier ransom communications as potentially credible.

In an interview with former Today co-host Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie mentioned that her family considered the first two ransom notes to be "real." Following these demands, Savannah and her sister shared an emotional video on Instagram, directly appealing to the kidnappers: "Return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her… this is the only way we will have peace," they stated. "This is very valuable to us, and we will pay." Nancy was last seen after spending time with her daughter Annie and Annie's husband, Tommaso Cioni. Her absence was noted the next morning when she did not attend her usual church service. Investigators later found that her doorbell camera had been disconnected at 1:47 AM. They also noted that the mobile app linked to Nancy's pacemaker lost contact with her phone at 2:28 AM, suggesting she had been moved far enough away to sever the connection. The FBI subsequently released footage from the doorbell camera showing a masked individual in dark clothing approaching Nancy's front door, appearing to carry a handgun.
