Nanda Devi Tanker Delivers 47,000 Metric Tons of LPG to Gujarat Amid Regional Tensions
The Nanda Devi tanker has successfully arrived at Vadinar port in Gujarat, delivering over 47,000 metric tons of LPG. This event comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with the Shivalk tanker having reached Mundra port just a day earlier. Officials estimate that this delivery could meet nearly a day's worth of India's LPG import needs. The safe passage of these vessels is attributed to strong diplomatic relations fostered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As India relies heavily on energy imports, this delivery is crucial for meeting the country's energy demands.

Nanda Devi Tanker Arrives at Vadinar Port
After the arrival of the Shivalk vessel, the Nanda Devi tanker has successfully docked at Vadinar port in Gujarat, carrying over 47,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This tanker is the second to pass through the strategically significant Hormuz Strait amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East. Just a day prior, another LPG tanker named Shivalk, which was also granted passage through the troubled waters, arrived at Mundra port with more than 46,000 metric tons of LPG. This amount is equivalent to approximately 3.24 million standard domestic cylinders, commonly used in Indian households. Officials estimate that this single vessel could fulfill nearly a day's worth of India's total LPG import requirements.
Shivalk's Safe Passage to Mundra Port
In light of ongoing conflicts in West Asia, India's LPG carrier 'Shivalk' has reached Mundra port in Gujarat without incident. Jitu Vaghani, the state's agriculture minister and government spokesperson, shared this update in the assembly on Monday. He noted that despite global tensions involving Iran, Israel, and other nations, the ship successfully navigated the Hormuz Strait to reach India. Vaghani attributed this achievement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong diplomatic relations with world leaders. He stated, 'Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successful diplomatic efforts, the LPG-laden 'Shivalk' has safely arrived at Gujarat's Mundra port.' He also mentioned that another vessel, 'Nanda Devi,' has safely traversed the Hormuz Strait and is expected to arrive at Vadinar port on Tuesday. Officials at Mundra port confirmed that the 'Shivalk' vessel arrived with 46,000 metric tons of LPG for Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). According to a statement from the port, 20,000 metric tons of LPG will be unloaded at Mundra, while 26,000 metric tons will be offloaded in Mangalore. ये खबर आप गज़ब वायरल में पढ़ रहे हैं। India heavily relies on imports for its energy needs, sourcing approximately 88% of its crude oil, 50% of its natural gas, and 60% of its LPG.
