Mystery Deepens in Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance: Clothing Found Near Family Home

Clothing Discovered Linked to Missing Woman

A viral social media post has emerged, claiming that a pair of pants and a knee brace were discovered close to the residence of Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman who has been missing from Arizona. These items were reportedly located near the home of her relatives, Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni. The images gained traction online after Jonathan Lee Riches, a self-identified investigator, shared them on X, having traveled to Tucson to closely follow the case.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing by her family on February 1, with authorities suspecting she was taken from her home in the Catalina Foothills area during the night prior to the report. Riches posted images of the items, stating he had alerted law enforcement. He noted, “Pants & knee brace found in a wash by Annie Guthrie & Tommaso's home. We notified authorities.” He also shared a widely circulated image of Nancy with her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, from the Today show, where Nancy was seen wearing tan pants.

Speculation Surrounds the Found Clothing

Could The Clothing Belong To Nancy Guthrie?

The discovery of the clothing has sparked speculation among social media users, with some suggesting that the pants resemble those worn by Nancy in the older photograph. One user remarked, “First picture that popped in my mind too,” while another commented, “Omg those look like they could be a match.” However, there is currently no evidence linking the found pants to Nancy Guthrie, and authorities have not confirmed any association between the clothing and the missing woman.

Additionally, some users raised questions regarding the appropriateness of the clothing in relation to the circumstances described by investigators. Police believe Nancy was taken from her bed, leading one user to question, “I would assume she would’ve been in her nightgown if she was already in bed.” Another added skepticism, stating, “They said she was taken from her bed so I highly doubt she was wearing her daytime clothes.” The knee brace also raised inquiries, with some wondering if Nancy had ever used one. Public health reports indicate she suffers from high blood pressure and heart issues, and uses a pacemaker, but there is no mention of a knee brace.

Controversy Surrounding Family Members

Why Are Annie Guthrie And Tommaso Cioni Being Discussed?

The location of the clothing has fueled further discussion online, as the items were found near the home of Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni. The pair has been under scrutiny recently after journalist Ashleigh Banfield suggested that Cioni might be a suspect. However, law enforcement has dismissed these claims. Chris Nanos, the sheriff of Pima County, stated that no family member has been identified as a suspect in the ongoing investigation.

The sheriff’s department is collaborating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the search for Nancy Guthrie. Annie and Tommaso were reportedly among the last individuals to see Nancy before her disappearance. Reports indicate that Nancy had dinner with her daughter Annie the night before she went missing, and Tommaso drove her back to her home afterward. Nevertheless, authorities have not established any connection between the clothing found and Nancy Guthrie’s case.
