New Delhi: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed Bin Salman, expressing his condemnation of recent assaults on both nations that breach their sovereignty.
In his discussions with the leaders, Modi emphasized the critical need for restoring peace and stability in the region and expressed gratitude for their efforts in safeguarding the Indian community during these challenging times.
Modi shared on 'X', "I discussed the evolving situation in West Asia with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. India firmly condemns the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia that violate its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We concurred on the urgent need for regional peace and stability. I appreciate his commitment to the welfare of the Indian community in these trying times."
In a separate message, he noted, "I had a constructive conversation with King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. India denounces the attacks on Bahrain and stands in solidarity with its citizens during this crisis. I am thankful for the unwavering support provided to the Indian community in Bahrain."
These conversations followed the US and Israel's attack on Iran, which resulted in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran launched missiles targeting Israel and several West Asian nations, including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
