Modi Receives Call from Netanyahu
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed that he received a call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who briefed him on the evolving security situation following Israeli airstrikes on Iranian sites. Netanyahu reached out to Modi to discuss the recent developments in West Asia.
In a post on 'X', Modi stated, "I received a call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He informed me about the current situation. I expressed India's concerns and emphasized the urgent need for restoring peace and stability in the region."
Escalating Conflict in West Asia
Earlier on Friday, Israel launched an attack on Iran, targeting key military officials and nuclear and missile facilities, which has heightened fears of a broader conflict between the two adversaries in West Asia. This assault is considered the most significant on Iran since the war with Iraq in the 1980s.
India's Concerns Over Regional Tensions
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of External Affairs expressed India's deep concern regarding the recent developments between Iran and Israel, stating that it is closely monitoring the situation. India urged both parties to refrain from any actions that could escalate tensions further.
