Bilateral Meeting in Tianjin

On Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tianjin, as reported by Chinese state media. This visit marks Modi's first trip to China in over seven years, having arrived in Tianjin on Saturday evening after a two-day stay in Japan.



During their discussions, Modi highlighted the productive talks held in Kazan last year, which he believes have positively influenced bilateral relations. He noted that following the disengagement along the border, a peaceful and stable environment has been established.



Modi further stated that an agreement has been established between the Special Representatives of both nations concerning border management. He announced the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and the reinstatement of direct flights between India and China. He emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries is crucial for the welfare of approximately 2.8 billion people and is committed to advancing their relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and sensitivity.
