Minneapolis Nightclub Shooting Leaves Nine Injured, Investigation Underway

Shooting Incident Outside Minneapolis Nightclub

A shooting incident outside a nightclub in Minneapolis has resulted in injuries to nine individuals, with two victims in critical condition, according to police reports. Authorities responded to gunfire reports near the Reign Event Center on Hennepin Avenue in the Uptown area just before 12:30 AM local time on Sunday. Officers arrived promptly, within a minute, and called for backup from all precincts due to the large crowd and multiple injuries.

Investigators revealed that the shooting erupted following a confrontation outside the venue. They are also looking into the possibility that some shots may have originated from a vehicle. Among the injured are seven men and two women, aged between 18 and 27. At the scene, four individuals were found with gunshot wounds, including a 20-year-old man in critical condition, a 21-year-old man, and two women aged 22 and 27, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. All four were transported to Hennepin Healthcare.

Additionally, an 18-year-old man arrived at Hennepin Healthcare with a gunshot wound that was deemed non-life-threatening. Four other victims sought care at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, including a 21-year-old man in critical condition who was later moved to Hennepin Healthcare, along with three men aged 20, 21, and 22 with injuries not considered life-threatening. As of Sunday morning, no arrests had been made. The Firearm Assault Shoot Team is leading the investigation and is urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Detectives are also assessing the potential involvement of a vehicle in the shooting. This incident occurred on the same block where an unrelated mass shooting in June 2020 injured 11 people due to multiple gunmen, although police have stated there is no known connection between the two events.
