Significant Military Action in Northwest Pakistan


Peshawar: In a decisive military operation, the Pakistan Army has successfully eliminated a key commander of the Afghan Taliban near the Torkham border, as reported by security officials on Wednesday.


The commander, known as Qahraman, who led the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA), was killed alongside his associates during an operation late last night. They were intercepted while attempting to approach the border.


Torkham serves as a crucial border crossing linking Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with Afghanistan's Nangarhar region.


The security forces utilized artillery fire to engage the group, effectively neutralizing the militants. Qahraman and several of his accomplices were confirmed dead as a result of this operation.


Qahraman hailed from the Afghan side of Torkham, close to the city of Jalalabad.
