Kenny Omega Triumphs at AEW Revolution 2025; Swerve Strickland Secures Title Shot
Kenny Omega Claims AEW International Title

After a challenging recovery from a serious injury, Kenny Omega celebrated a significant victory at AEW Revolution 2025. In a pivotal match during the annual pay-per-view event, Omega triumphed over Konosuke Takeshita, capturing the AEW International Title for the first time.
The match was a thrilling exchange, culminating in Omega executing a crucifix maneuver to secure the win. Following the bout, as Omega stood victorious with the title raised high, pyrotechnics lit up the stage.
Leading up to this event, Omega faced an attack from the Don Callis Family upon his return to television in January, but Will Ospreay intervened to assist him. Together, Omega and Ospreay defeated Kyle Fletcher and Takeshita at AEW Grand Slam Australia, paving the way for Omega's title challenge at the pay-per-view.
A mini-tournament was also conducted to determine the contender for the International title at AEW Revolution 2025. Orange Cassidy emerged victorious against Roderick Strong, earning the chance to face Takeshita, but ultimately fell short in his title bid the following week on Dynamite, allowing Takeshita to retain and set up the match against Omega.
Swerve Strickland Earns Future Title Opportunity
During AEW Revolution 2025, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Swerve Strickland secured his position as the number-one contender for the AEW World title by defeating Ricochet. The match saw interference from Prince Nana, which enabled Swerve to pin Ricochet after delivering two House Calls and a Big Pressure.
Initially, it appeared that Nana was betraying Strickland, but it turned out to be a clever ruse as he returned at the end of the match to reclaim a robe that Ricochet had previously stolen. Despite Ricochet's brief possession of the robe, Strickland ultimately regained it.
Earlier in February, Ricochet had pinned Strickland on Dynamite, which fueled Swerve's desire for revenge. After his victory, Strickland made a statement by attacking world champion Jon Moxley with a Swerve Stomp from a high guardrail during the closing moments of AEW Revolution 2025.
