Iran's Recent Military Strikes
On Sunday, Iran executed drone and missile strikes targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, coinciding with ongoing US military operations against Iranian positions. Both nations, which host US military bases, reported multiple Iranian assaults throughout the day. Authorities in Kuwait confirmed that one of the strikes ignited a fire at a power and water facility, while Bahrain's military reported intercepting what it termed "treacherous" attacks from Iran.
Iranian military sources claimed that their operations included a strike on a US ammunition depot located at Camp al-Adiri in Kuwait, as well as targeting air defense systems at Ali Al Salem Air Base, which accommodates US forces. Additionally, Iran asserted that its air defense systems successfully downed a US LUCAS drone over southern Iran.
Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy reported that a power and desalination plant was hit again by Iranian forces, resulting in a fire. This incident marks the second attack on Kuwait's power infrastructure in recent days, as stated by the ministry through the state-run news agency KUNA.

The ministry indicated that the attack impacted numerous generating units, prompting the activation of emergency protocols to mitigate the damage. This escalation follows a report from US Central Command (CENTCOM) about the death of a US service member in northern Iraq on July 18, during an operation involving a downed Iranian drone. CENTCOM confirmed that another service member was injured and is receiving treatment.
Additionally, CENTCOM reported the discovery of "unidentified remains" at the site of a previous Iranian strike in Jordan, which resulted in the deaths of two US service members and left another unaccounted for. The Israeli military also reported that an Iranian missile was launched towards Aqaba in Jordan but was intercepted by Israeli and Jordanian forces, with sirens sounding in various parts of Jordan.
The recent Iranian strikes came after US operations targeting Iranian positions, which were described as punitive measures against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for earlier attacks in Jordan that resulted in US casualties. The US military stated that these strikes aimed to diminish Iran's capacity to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian media reported that US strikes targeted locations in Hormozgan and Khuzestan provinces, as well as Qeshm Island.
Later on Sunday, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization claimed that the US had attacked a nuclear facility under construction in the southwest of the country, condemning the action as a breach of international law. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced it would investigate these claims, noting that the facility was still in the early construction phase and contained no nuclear materials during its last inspection, posing no immediate radiological threat.
