The Russian Foreign Ministry had earlier stated that Araghchi would travel to Moscow for discussions. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Araghchi departed from Islamabad to Russia on Sunday.

This visit comes as Araghchi made a stop in the Pakistani capital for the second time in less than 24 hours, following a trip to Oman. Mediators are emphasizing the need to continue peace talks with the United States to end the conflict that began on February 28.
