Iran's Foreign Minister Claims Control Restored Amid Protests: What’s Really Happening?

Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has stated that the situation in the country is now under control after a violent crackdown on protests. He accused the protests of being manipulated to justify U.S. intervention, although he provided no evidence for his claims. Activists report that over 500 people have died in the unrest, primarily demonstrators. Araghchi's comments were made during a meeting with foreign diplomats in Tehran and were covered by Al Jazeera, which continues to report despite internet restrictions. This situation raises questions about the ongoing unrest and the international response.

Iran's Foreign Minister Addresses Protests

Dubai: On Monday, Iran's foreign minister declared that the situation in the country has been brought under complete control following a violent crackdown on widespread protests.

Abbas Araghchi suggested that the protests had escalated into violence, allegedly providing a pretext for intervention by US President Donald Trump.

However, he did not present any supporting evidence for his claims. This statement follows reports from activists indicating that over 500 individuals have lost their lives during the recent protests, with most casualties being demonstrators.

Araghchi made these comments while addressing foreign diplomats in Tehran. Notably, the Qatar-funded Al Jazeera network, which has continued its operations despite internet disruptions in Iran, broadcasted his statements.
