Iran's Defiance Amidst US Pressure: Supreme Leader Calls for Unity
Iran's Stance on US Negotiations
Following the recent stalemate in negotiations between Iran and the United States, Tehran remains resolute in the face of threats from President Donald Trump. On Thursday, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, commended the remarkable unity among the Iranian populace, asserting that it has significantly undermined adversarial efforts. He urged for tangible expressions of gratitude to enhance national solidarity, as reported by state media.
In a message shared on social media, Khamenei stated, "The unusual unity among our people has caused a rift among our enemies," emphasizing that such solidarity has thwarted the schemes of those seeking to weaken the Islamic Republic. He called for actions that would further solidify national unity, making it "stronger and more resilient," while leaving opponents feeling more defeated.
He cautioned against the enemy's media strategies aimed at eroding national unity and security, urging vigilance to prevent their malicious objectives from succeeding.

'No Hardliners or Moderates in Iran': Pezeshkian
In a related statement, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that there are no divisions between hardliners and moderates in Iran; rather, all citizens are united as ‘Iranians’ and ‘revolutionaries’. His comments followed Trump's assertions of internal discord within Iran's political and military circles.
Pezeshkian remarked, "With the unwavering unity of our nation and adherence to the Supreme Leader, we will ensure that the aggressors regret their actions." He concluded with a powerful declaration of unity: "One God, one nation, one leader, and one path; the path to the triumph of our beloved Iran, which is more valuable than life itself."
The situation regarding a ceasefire that was set to expire earlier this week remains uncertain. Trump had previously made a seemingly unilateral announcement on Tuesday, indicating that the US would prolong the ceasefire until discussions on an Iranian proposal for peace talks could take place, aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict that has persisted for two months.
