Iranian Military Official Ridicules US Ceasefire Efforts: A Sign of Internal Strife?

In a recent statement, Iranian military spokesperson Lt. Col. Ebrahim Zolfaghari ridiculed the United States' attempts to negotiate a ceasefire, suggesting that the US is merely engaging in self-dialogue. He criticized the US for its perceived strategic failures and emphasized that Iran will not compromise with what he termed a declining superpower. This commentary follows the Trump administration's proposal of a ceasefire plan sent to Iran through Pakistan, highlighting ongoing tensions in international relations. Zolfaghari's remarks reflect Iran's steadfast position against US negotiations, raising questions about the effectiveness of such diplomatic efforts.

Iran's Military Response to US Ceasefire Negotiations

Dubai: An Iranian military spokesperson has openly mocked the United States' efforts to broker a ceasefire, claiming that the negotiations are merely a dialogue with themselves.

Lt. Col. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, representing the Iranian military's Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, expressed these sentiments in a pre-recorded video broadcast on state television.

He stated, "The strategic power you once boasted about has now become a strategic failure. If you were truly a global superpower, you would have resolved this situation by now. Do not disguise your defeat as a peace agreement. Your era of empty promises is over."

Zolfaghari further questioned, "Have your internal disputes escalated to the point where you are negotiating with yourselves?"

His remarks followed the Trump administration's recent delivery of a 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran via Pakistan.

He concluded, "Our position has remained unchanged since the beginning, and it will continue to be so. We will never reach an agreement with someone like you."
