US Army Probes Helicopter Activity Over Nashville

Officials from the US Army have initiated an inquiry following the sighting of two AH-64 Apache helicopters flying over a protest in Nashville. The helicopters were seen performing low-altitude maneuvers near the residence of musician Kid Rock, located in Whites Creek. This incident occurred during the "No Kings" protest held in downtown Nashville on Saturday.

Major Jonathan Bless, a public affairs officer with the 101st Airborne Division, confirmed awareness of a video circulating online that depicted the helicopters near the musician's private home, whose real name is Robert Ritchie. He stated, "The command has initiated an investigation to review the circumstances surrounding this activity." The division, along with Fort Campbell, emphasized their commitment to aviation safety and professionalism, taking community concerns regarding aircraft operations seriously.

Major Bless noted that the reason for the helicopters flying over the protest remains uncertain. He mentioned, "Our pilots do regularly fly routes outside the Fort Campbell area. We just don't know if it was incidental or if it was deliberate." In videos shared by Kid Rock, he is seen on his deck, saluting one of the helicopters as it hovered near his swimming pool. He captioned the footage, expressing his sentiments about respect and sacrifice for the country. A separate video appears to show one helicopter adopting an attack position directed at the property, while another helicopter is visible in the background. The investigation is still ongoing.
