Investigation into Celeste Rivas' Homicide Reveals Disturbing Details
Homicide Findings in Celeste Rivas Case
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has classified the death of Celeste Rivas as a homicide, revealing alarming details about her injuries and the state of her remains. The report indicates that Rivas succumbed to "multiple penetrating injuries from unspecified objects." Among the injuries, two significant wounds were noted on her torso, characterized by "smooth edges that may indicate sharp force trauma." One of these wounds, approximately 3/4 inch long and 1.5 inches deep, was found on her upper abdomen, having penetrated the liver. Another wound, measuring 9/16 inch in length and 2 inches deep, was located on the left side of her chest, affecting an intercostal space and damaging nearby rib surfaces. The report's cautious language regarding the injuries could lead to disputes during legal proceedings.
Additional findings revealed that Rivas had amputations on her left ring and pinky fingers, while her right index finger, which features a "Shhh" tattoo, remained intact. The medical examiner's report also highlighted inconsistencies in toxicology results. An initial test suggested a "presumptive positive" for methamphetamine and MDMA, but a follow-up examination yielded inconclusive results for methamphetamine and no detection of MDMA. The report also mentioned that Rivas might have had alcohol in her system, although it was determined not to be a factor in her death.
Authorities noted that the condition of Rivas's body complicated the investigation, as it was severely decomposed, with the head partially skeletonized and the left eye missing. Her remains were discovered inside a black body bag and a trash bag within the front trunk of a Tesla owned by D4vd. Prosecutors allege that D4vd murdered Rivas with a "sharp instrument" on April 23, 2025, and claim he waited several weeks before dismembering her body and placing it in bags. Investigators reported that the remains were stored in the vehicle's trunk for about four months before being found in September 2025, after the car was towed to a storage facility. D4vd faces charges including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
