Investigation Continues into Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie
Nancy Guthrie's Mysterious Disappearance
Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old resident of Tucson and mother of Savannah Guthrie, has been unaccounted for since February 1. Authorities suspect she was abducted from her home, as indicated by doorbell camera footage capturing a masked individual near her residence that morning. Despite the investigation, no suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made.
Investigators have confirmed that blood found on her porch belongs to Nancy, yet other evidence has not yielded significant leads. A glove discovered approximately two miles from her home, resembling one worn by the masked figure, did not match any profiles in the FBI's DNA database or any samples from the scene.
Recent analysis of the blood evidence has sparked new inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. Jim Clemente, a former FBI agent and criminal profiler, suggested that Nancy may have resisted her assailant. He noted that the blood patterns indicate she likely fought back, possibly being struck in the face before collapsing.
Clemente elaborated that the blood droplets' positioning suggests her face was close to the ground during the incident. He speculated that the blood trail ceases because she was subsequently picked up and carried away, likely with her face upward to prevent further blood loss.
Based on the evidence, Clemente believes there was only one perpetrator involved, citing the lack of multiple shoe prints and asserting that if there had been more than one attacker, Nancy would have struggled more vigorously.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, overseeing the investigation, has faced scrutiny regarding the handling of the case, which remains unresolved with no significant updates.
