Incident at JD Vance's Home

Cincinnati (US): Early Monday morning, a man was apprehended after he vandalized Vice President JD Vance's residence in Ohio, according to the US Secret Service.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after midnight by agents stationed at Vance's home, located east of downtown Cincinnati, as confirmed by agency spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi in a statement.

Secret Service personnel responded to a loud noise at the property around midnight and discovered an individual who had smashed a window with a hammer and was attempting to enter the house, as reported by two law enforcement officials who requested anonymity due to the ongoing investigation.

Additionally, the man had damaged a Secret Service vehicle while approaching the residence, one official noted.

At the time of the incident, the home in the Walnut Hills area was vacant, with Vance and his family not present in Ohio, Guglielmi stated.

The Secret Service is collaborating with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney's office to determine potential charges.

Vance's office referred inquiries to the Secret Service, indicating that his family had already returned to Washington.

Walnut Hills is one of Cincinnati's historic neighborhoods, known for landmarks such as the Harriet Beecher Stowe House.
