This victory marks the fifth gold medal for the Indian men's hockey team in the Asian Games, following their wins in 1966, 1998, 2014, and 2022.


Nail-Biting Semi-Final Against Pakistan

In a thrilling semi-final, India narrowly defeated their long-time rivals Pakistan with a score of 4-3. The match, held at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium, saw India initially leading 3-0 before Pakistan made a comeback.
