Indian Naval Deployment in Vietnam

Three Indian naval vessels—Delhi, Shakti, and Kiltan—have arrived at a Vietnamese port as part of their operational deployment in Southeast Asia, according to an official announcement made on Friday.


The official noted that this mission is expected to serve as a significant milestone in reinforcing the strategic partnership between India and Vietnam, while also promoting a rules-based maritime order in the Indo-Pacific region.


These ships, which are part of the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy, reached Tien Sa Port in Da Nang, Vietnam, under the command of Rear Admiral Sushil Menon, the Flag Officer of the Eastern Fleet, on July 24.


The Ministry of Defence stated that this deployment aligns with India's 'Ocean' vision and underscores the Indian Navy's commitment to becoming a preferred partner in the region.
