India Unveils Squad for SAFF Women's Championship 2026 in Goa
Final Squad Announcement
On Saturday, Crispin Chettri, the head coach of the Indian senior women's national football team, revealed the final 23-member squad for the upcoming SAFF Women's Championship 2026. This tournament is set to take place in Margao, Goa, from May 25 to June 6.
Preliminary Squad Adjustments
Earlier, a preliminary squad of 26 players was disclosed on Tuesday. However, three players have been released from this list: defender Shubhangi Singh, midfielder Priyadharshini Selladurai, and forward Rimpa Haldar.
Current Training Camp
Currently, 22 players are participating in the training camp. Notably, Manisha Kalyan, who plays for Alianza Lima in Peru, will join the squad only when the FIFA International Match Window opens on June 1.
SAFF Championship 2026: Groups and Schedule
India is placed in Group B and will kick off their tournament against the Maldives on May 25 at 19:30. They will face Bangladesh on May 31 at the same time. Group A consists of Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for June 3, with the final match set for June 6 at 18:30. All matches will be held at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and will be available for live streaming on FanCode.
