Travel Advisory for Indian Nationals in Iran


Dubai: On Monday, the Indian government urged its citizens residing in Iran to refrain from attempting to cross any land borders without first coordinating with the Indian Embassy in Tehran.


The embassy's advisory emphasized that Indian nationals who try to exit Iran via land routes without prior approval may face significant logistical and immigration challenges.


The advisory stated, "All Indian nationals currently in Iran are strictly advised not to approach or attempt to cross any land border of Iran for onward travel without prior and explicit coordination with the Embassy of India."




The embassy clarified that it would be unable to assist individuals who leave Iranian territory without prior coordination.


It added, "The Embassy is in regular contact with members of the Indian community, and coordinated arrangements are being undertaken wherever necessary. Uncoordinated movement toward land borders is strongly discouraged."


Indian nationals in Iran are encouraged to adhere to the embassy's advisories and maintain communication with official channels before making any travel plans.
