Kuwait City, June 20: On Saturday, numerous Indian diplomatic missions around the globe hosted yoga sessions in anticipation of the 12th International Day of Yoga, emphasizing the significance of holistic health and inner peace.


This year's celebration, taking place on Sunday, revolves around the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," which highlights yoga's role in promoting healthier and more active lifestyles across different age groups.


In Kuwait, the Indian Embassy organized a yoga session at the Boulevard Cricket Stadium as part of a three-day Yoga Festival that commenced on June 19. The event attracted over 2,200 participants, including diplomats, officials, community leaders, students, and yoga enthusiasts.


Notable attendees included Sheikha Shaikha Al Sabah, president of the Kuwait Yoga Committee, and Nouf Marwaai, founder of the Arab Yoga Foundation in Saudi Arabia.


In Finland, the Indian Embassy collaborated with the Suomi–Intia Seura to host a Midnight Yoga Session at Ounasvaara in Rovaniemi, situated on the Arctic Circle. This event celebrated the enduring benefits of yoga under the enchanting Arctic midnight sun.


In the Philippines, Na Heal, a wellness organization, partnered with the Indian Embassy to conduct a yoga session at the Department of Budget and Management in Manila, fostering connections between the two nations.


Additionally, the Indian High Commission in Fiji organized a yoga session at the Fiji Museum, emphasizing the importance of a balanced lifestyle and mental well-being through yoga practice.


In Colombia, the Embassy of India hosted a special yoga session for professionals at the Cusezar Building, allowing participants to experience the physical and mental benefits of yoga.


In Armenia, a yoga session was organized by the Indian Embassy in collaboration with local organizations, featuring 108 Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) to honor the International Day of Yoga.


In the United States, yoga sessions took place in cities like Seattle and New York, showcasing yoga's ongoing relevance to holistic health. The Indian Consulate General in Seattle shared updates on social media, highlighting yoga events at iconic locations.


In New York, the Indian Consulate General partnered with Bronx Community College to organize a yoga event for students in celebration of the upcoming International Day of Yoga.
