Following a day of lying in state for senior Iranian officials and foreign dignitaries, Khamenei's coffin was displayed outdoors on Saturday, encased in glass, alongside those of his daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and 14-month-old granddaughter.

Reports indicate that he sustained injuries during the attack that claimed his father's life and those of other family members on February 28, which involved coordinated strikes by the US and Israel.
