Day 5 featured the quarterfinals for the Girls' category, where Vasant Valley School, Modern School, Step by Step School, Noida, and Bharti Public School secured their spots in the semi-finals, as reported in a press release. Additionally, a single match in the Boys' category saw Vasant Valley School clinch the last quarterfinal position after the first seven teams qualified on Day 4.

Vasant Valley Completes Boys' Quarterfinal Line-up

Kicking off Day 5, Vasant Valley School earned the final Boys' quarterfinal spot by defeating Kendriya Vidyalaya, R.K. Puram 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time. Both teams exhibited high intensity and attacking play, creating numerous chances but failing to score. The match was ultimately decided by penalties, where Vasant Valley School maintained their composure to secure victory.

Highlights from the Girls' Quarterfinals

In the Girls' quarterfinals, Vasant Valley School achieved a narrow 1-0 win against Government Girls Senior Secondary School, NIT Faridabad, with Tanvie Gogoi netting the crucial goal in the 30th minute.

Modern School advanced to the semi-finals with an impressive 6-0 win over Sapphire International School. Dhwani Bidada shone with a hat-trick, scoring in the 11th, 22nd, and 32nd minutes, while Aradhya Sherawat contributed two goals in the 13th and 24th minutes, and Keerti Panchal opened the scoring in the third minute.

Step by Step School, Noida secured their semi-final spot with a 2-0 victory against St. Francis De Sales Senior Secondary School, thanks to Meher Gupta's goals in the 7th and 27th minutes.

The day's matches concluded with Bharti Public School defeating Mother's International School 2-0, with Nikita scoring early in the third minute and Araddhya Dhang adding another in the 23rd minute, ensuring a solid win.

The Oriental Cup 2026 continues with the Boys' quarterfinals, intensifying the competition for a place in the semi-finals. This fourth edition, running from July 7 to July 16 at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, features over 1,500 student-athletes from more than 45 teams across Delhi-NCR.

The tournament boasts a significantly increased prize pool and a scholarship program worth Rs 2.5 lakh for 10 deserving student-athletes. It is supported by Oriental Structural Engineers Pvt.
