EU's Commitment to Gaza Relief

Brussels: The European Union has successfully coordinated a fundraising initiative to secure 900 million euros (approximately $1 billion) in humanitarian assistance for Gaza. This effort involved collaboration with 65 different governments and organizations, including the White House and the United Nations, as announced by the EU's chief diplomat on Monday.

Kaja Kallas revealed the funding details following a meeting of the Palestine Donors Group held in Brussels.

"The EU stands as the most reliable supporter of the Palestinian people. We are the largest donor and a staunch advocate for the two-state solution," she stated.

This meeting marked the second assembly of the Team Gaza Initiative, a project aimed at garnering support for essential recovery efforts, such as sanitation and agriculture, in the impoverished and war-torn coastal region that is home to around 2 million residents.
