Escalating Conflict: Israel Strikes Lebanon and Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Intensifying Violence in the Middle East

Dubai: The Lebanese health ministry reported that Israel conducted airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut early Sunday, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals, as the conflict in the region escalates.

Israeli authorities indicated that these strikes were aimed at leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force operating in Lebanon, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's warning of "many surprises" in the ongoing conflict.

In a separate incident, two border guards in Kuwait lost their lives due to a barrage of missiles and drones targeting the Gulf nation.

On Saturday, an Israeli assault targeted an oil storage facility in Tehran, creating massive flames visible in footage from the Associated Press, marking the first instance of a civil industrial site being attacked during this conflict.

Since the outbreak of hostilities on February 28, triggered by joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran, the death toll has reached at least 1,230 in Iran, over 300 in Lebanon, and around a dozen in Israel, according to official reports.

Latest Developments:

Missile Alert in Dubai

A missile alert was issued in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday morning.

Bahrain reported that an Iranian drone strike caused significant damage to a desalination plant, marking the first acknowledgment by an Arab nation of such an attack during the nine-day conflict.

Desalination facilities along the Persian Gulf are crucial for the region's drinking water supply.

Additionally, three individuals were injured in Bahrain due to shrapnel from a missile attack that struck a university building in Muharraq city.

The Interior Ministry confirmed that missile fragments also inflicted material damage.

Israel Targets Iranian F-14 Fighter Jets

On Sunday, the Israeli military announced that it had targeted a number of F-14 fighter jets, originally purchased from the United States before the Iranian revolution.

These aircraft, stationed at Isfahan Airport south of Tehran, have historically played a vital role in defending Iranian airspace.

The Israeli military did not confirm whether the jets were destroyed.
