Trump's AI-Generated Image Removed Amid Criticism

A recent post by Donald Trump on his Truth Social account, which featured an AI-generated image of him resembling a Christ-like figure, has been taken down following backlash from notable conservative and religious figures. The image depicted Trump in a white robe, with a glowing hand on a man's forehead in a hospital bed. This post surfaced shortly after Trump's criticisms of Pope Leo XIV, with whom he has been publicly feuding.

When asked about the removal of the post, Trump addressed reporters at the White House, stating, "I thought it was me as a doctor… only the fake news could come up with that one… it was supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better, and I do make people better." Prominent individuals expressed their disapproval, with Riley Gaines commenting on X that she "cannot understand why he'd post this," questioning his intentions and suggesting that humility would benefit him. She added, "God shall not be mocked."

Megan Basham labeled the image as "OUTRAGEOUS blasphemy," expressing confusion over Trump's motives and calling for him to retract the post and seek forgiveness from both the American public and God. Isabel Brown described the image as "disgusting and unacceptable," emphasizing the importance of Jesus and criticizing the post as a significant misinterpretation of the American people's faith revival.

Steve Deace succinctly responded with a single-word comment: "No." The image shared by Trump was not original; a similar version had been posted earlier by Nick Adams, who is known for sharing AI-generated biblical images of the former president. In that earlier depiction, a silhouette of a US soldier was present in the background, while in Trump's version, the figure was altered to appear horned and demonic.

Criticism also emerged from users on Truth Social, a platform where dissent against Trump is rare. This post coincided with an ongoing dialogue between Trump and Pope Leo XIV, the first US-born leader of the Catholic Church. The Pope had previously indicated that a "delusion of omnipotence" was affecting US foreign policy, particularly regarding tensions with Iran. Trump retorted by labeling the Pope as "WEAK on Crime," expressing his discontent with Pope Leo and accusing him of aligning with the radical left. The Pope later remarked that he was unafraid of the Trump administration and would persist in advocating against war, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
