Court Takes Action Against Misuse of AI

The Delhi High Court has taken a significant step to combat the misuse of artificial intelligence by instructing various online platforms to eliminate fake, AI-generated content that misappropriates the name, image, and persona of spiritual leader Sadhguru. This interim order was issued during the hearing of a personality rights case filed by Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation, responding to the increasing instances of doctored videos, audio, and images circulating online. Recently, numerous social media users expressed concerns regarding fraudulent content that misrepresents Sadhguru, including false arrest scenarios and misleading investment promotions aimed at exploiting his popularity to sell products and gain followers.


Legal Action Against Fake Content

In light of the proliferation of fake AI-altered audio, video, and images, Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation filed a personality rights case in the Delhi High Court on Friday. During the proceedings, the court issued an interim order directing various online platforms to remove content that misuses Sadhguru's name, image, and persona.


Isha Foundation's Response

The Isha Foundation released a statement on X, highlighting that these scams include fake AI-generated videos, altered images depicting false events such as Sadhguru's arrest, and misleading advertisements promoting financial investments. Welcoming the court's action, the Isha Foundation stated that it is actively working to eliminate such fake content and protect individuals from falling victim to these scams.
