Sikkim Sightings
One of the earliest recorded incidents occurred on February 19, 1968, when multiple witnesses in North Sikkim—specifically in Lachung, Lachen, Trangu, Muguthang, and Chholhamu—reported observing an unidentified object moving from the northeast to the southwest. The object was noted for emitting a bright light from its tail, illuminating the area around it. Witnesses also described hearing a sound reminiscent of thunder shortly after the sighting.
Ladakh Incidents
Further sightings were documented in Ladakh throughout March 1968. On March 4, individuals in the Chang La, Fukche, and Koyul areas reported seeing a bright white light traveling from east to west. The report indicated that two loud explosive sounds were heard prior to the appearance of a reddish glow and white smoke. On the same day, another sighting near Ane La described an object moving in a circular motion, leaving a trail of smoke behind it. Later, on March 25, residents in Fukche, Koyul, and Demchok witnessed a rocket-like object traversing the sky, which left a white-yellow trail approximately 200 yards long and was estimated to be flying at an altitude of 20,000 to 25,000 feet.
Incident in Nepal
The declassified files also mention a significant sighting in Nepal on March 27, 1968. Witnesses in the Kaski region reported seeing a blazing object moving from north to south, flashing intermittently and producing a loud noise. The document claims that a metallic disc-shaped object was later found in a crater near Baltichaur, northeast of Pokhara, measuring about six feet across and four feet high.

However, officials have urged caution, advising against making definitive conclusions based on the available material.
