Karachi: On the evening of June 21, a violent attack occurred at the Masjid and Imambargah Baqeeatullah in Karachi, Pakistan, involving three unidentified individuals believed to be Afghan nationals. The assault unfolded in the Defence Phase Five area and was captured on video, which has since circulated online.

Reports indicate that the attackers were driving a Suzuki pickup truck, which sped into the mosque, causing chaos among worshippers. At least 30 individuals sustained injuries, including women and children. The footage reveals the truck accelerating as it approached the mosque.

Local residents apprehended the attackers, resulting in two being killed by the mob, while the third was handed over to law enforcement. The motives behind this attack remain unclear, and it is yet to be determined if the assailants had ties to any terrorist groups. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.

In related news, the Afghan Taliban recently claimed responsibility for a series of airstrikes targeting alleged Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) positions within Pakistan. This announcement was made by Sadeequllah Nasrat, the Deputy Spokesperson for Afghanistan's Ministry of Defence. He stated that Taliban air operations struck various sites in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which they labeled as "centres of evil and corruption" linked to Daesh affiliates. The Taliban asserted that these locations were involved in planning attacks against Afghanistan and had been the source of previous assaults on Afghan soil.
