In a surprising turn of events, Dalhousie experienced an unusual snowfall in June, transforming the hill station into a picturesque winter landscape that left both tourists and locals in awe.
The snowfall along the Dalhousie–Lakkadmandi–Khajjiar road resulted in traffic being halted for nearly two hours, with numerous tourist vehicles caught in the congestion.
To alleviate the situation, the Public Works Department (PWD) in Dalhousie quickly dispatched JCB machines to clear the road, enabling traffic to resume and minimizing further disruptions.
Many visitors expressed their joy at this unexpected weather phenomenon, feeling “fortunate” to witness snow during the summer months. The event was captured by numerous tourists, adding to the allure of Dalhousie as a top travel destination.
