Chipotle Revives Burrito Vault Game for National Burrito Day Celebration
Chipotle's Exciting Burrito Vault Returns
For the third consecutive year, Chipotle is reintroducing its Burrito Vault game to celebrate National Burrito Day on Thursday, April 2. Initially launched two years ago, the game attracted over 3.5 million participants last year, prompting the chain to continue the tradition. The game is simple: players must guess the correct burrito combination for a specific hour to win various prizes. Correct guesses can lead to rewards ranging from buy-one-get-one entrees to free burritos for an entire year.
New Features for This Year
This year's game introduces an exciting new feature called Double Protein Power Hour, which occurs once daily. During this time, the number of prizes available doubles compared to regular hours, and every prize includes double protein.
How to Participate
The game is accessible to Chipotle Rewards members and runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET from March 30 to April 1, leading up to National Burrito Day. To join, visit UnlockBurritoDay.com. Each participant has four guesses per hour, with the vault code resetting at the start of each hour along with a new set of prizes. Prizes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis each hour.
During regular gameplay, the first player to unlock the code wins free burritos for a year. Following that, 3,600 buy-one-get-one entrees and 2,000 double protein rewards are available. In the Double Protein Power Hour, the first two players to unlock the vault each receive free double protein burritos for a year, along with 7,200 double protein BOGOs and 4,000 double protein rewards. Players can only win one BOGO entrée or one double protein reward throughout the entire campaign.
Chipotle's Perspective
Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle's Interim Chief Marketing Officer, stated that the decision to bring back the game for a third year was influenced by the positive feedback received in previous years. She noted, "Reintroducing the game allows us to maintain that momentum while showcasing our clean protein options as more consumers seek high-quality, protein-rich meals."
Consolation Offer for Participants
For those who do not win, Chipotle has a consolation offer. On National Burrito Day, April 2, the chain will waive delivery fees on all digital orders made through the Chipotle app or website. No game participation is necessary—just enjoy free delivery on your order.
