Significant Surge in China's Exports

Hong Kong: According to the customs agency, China's exports soared by 36.3% in September compared to the same month last year, as pressure from trading partners, including the European Union, intensified the call for a more balanced trade approach.

This export figure exceeded economists' forecasts and marked an increase from the 25% growth recorded in August.

The rise in shipments has been significantly supported by high-tech products, particularly semiconductors and automobiles.

Imports also saw a notable increase, climbing 31% year-on-year in September, which was an uptick from the 28.2% growth observed in August.

Consequently, China reported a trade surplus of $133.5 billion for the month, an increase from the previous month's surplus of $119 billion.
