Authorities Warn Against Misinformation Regarding Shri Manimahesh Yatra

Caution Against False Reports

Subhash Mahajan, the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Chamba, has issued a warning to both residents and pilgrims about misleading information circulating on social media concerning cloudbursts in Bharmour and potential flooding along the Shri Manimahesh Yatra route.

He emphasized that these reports are unverified and false, cautioning that they could incite unnecessary panic among the public and devotees. The ADM confirmed that the administration has not validated any such occurrences and urged individuals to refrain from believing or sharing unverified information.

The ADM noted that the administration is taking these misleading reports seriously. Measures are being implemented through the Cyber Cell to address those spreading false information. He warned that any social media page or platform that disseminates unverified or fake news will face strict legal repercussions under the IT Act and other applicable laws.

Vikas Sharma encouraged devotees to depend solely on official announcements and verified updates from the administration. He advised citizens to reach out to local administrative officials for confirmation if they have any doubts about the authenticity of the information.

He stressed that the administration's goal is to provide pilgrims with accurate, verified, and timely information to ensure that the Shri Manimahesh Yatra proceeds in a safe and peaceful manner.
