Guwahati: In a remarkable twist, a man from Assam's Nalbari district has gained internet fame for his unconventional way of celebrating his divorce — by taking a bath in four buckets of milk.

The individual, known as Manik Ali from Baraliarpar near Mukalmua, was filmed pouring approximately 40 liters of milk over himself at a tube well close to his residence. A neighbor captured this unusual moment, which quickly spread across social media platforms.

In the video, Ali expresses his newfound freedom, stating, “I am free from today.” He elaborates that the legal separation was finalized in court, prompting him to celebrate with a milk bath.

Ali claimed that his wife had eloped twice with another man, and after numerous attempts to reconcile, he opted to file for divorce. The court recently granted their separation, and Ali fulfilled his promise to commemorate the event in a memorable way.

Locals reportedly gathered to witness this extraordinary celebration.

He shared, “I tried to keep her with me, but she didn’t change. She kept eloping, and I couldn’t tolerate it anymore.”

Ali mentioned that their five-year-old daughter would stay with her mother. Neighbors described him as someone who had faced challenges in maintaining harmony at home. The couple had been married for seven years after a year of dating, and their daughter was born two years into their marriage.

Ali concluded, “I promised myself I would bathe in milk once the divorce came through — and I did.”
