The two-time All India amateur champion, Aryan, started strong with back-to-back birdies and concluded the round similarly, totaling nine birdies and one eagle, while only recording one bogey on each side of the course.
Jeev Milkha Singh's Debut
Jeev Milkha Singh, a renowned figure in Indian golf and a four-time DP World Tour champion, also made his IGPL debut, finishing with a commendable 7-under score. His round featured five birdies in the last six holes, placing him in second position.
Local Talent Shines
Kaya Daluwatte, a promising local golfer, secured third place with a score of 6-under 65, making her the top female competitor after the first day. Meanwhile, Pranavi Urs, the IGPL Mumbai champion, fell from 5-under to 2-under due to a bogey-double bogey-par finish.

Aman Raj, the current IGPL Order of Merit leader, and SSP Chawrasia, a six-time Asian Tour winner, were tied for fourth at 4-under. Several other notable players, including Gaganjeet Bhullar and Sachin Baisoya, were part of a five-way tie for sixth place, showcasing a competitive leaderboard.

Aryan reflected on his round, stating, 'I felt relaxed today, and my putting was on point, leading to a great score.' He aimed to surpass his previous best of 6-under from Ahmedabad and succeeded.
Jeev, thrilled with his performance, noted, 'It was my first competitive round in Colombo, and I enjoyed playing alongside young stars. The heat was challenging, but I adapted and finished strong with five birdies in the last six holes.'

Kaya Daluwatte, a talented Sri Lankan amateur, impressed with her 6-under 65, which included six birdies in the last seven holes. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside experienced Olympians, stating, 'I learned so much just by watching them.'
